chameleon GmbH is my personal investment vehicle. As a business angel, I invest in companies where technology, data and entrepreneurial energy come together — and support them with what I have learned over more than 25 years as a managing director and board member.
I invest where I can contribute not only capital but also operational experience. Two paths are at the centre of this.
Investing in young teams at a very early stage. What counts here is the idea, the execution strength of the founders and a market with real potential. I stay closely involved — without taking over.
Investing in more established, private-equity-backed companies — usually combined with an advisory board or supervisory board mandate, in which I contribute strategically and as an equal partner to the investor.
I currently hold 13 investments — from young start-ups to established mid-sized companies. A selection that shows the range: early ideas, grown businesses and one successfully supported exit.
This is a selection. I am happy to present further holdings on request and in a personal conversation.
My advisory work is carried out exclusively through selected advisory and supervisory board mandates. No classic consulting business, no broad acquisition.
“Few mandates, but with genuine commitment — because my time is the real investment.”
I only take on a mandate when I can contribute substantively and the collaboration rests on a shared entrepreneurial outlook.
For more than 25 years I have worked at the intersection of industry, technology and digitalisation. Roles as CEO of the Eucon Group for almost ten years, as a board member of VHV digital services AG and as CEO at VYDA taught me how a good idea becomes a viable, data-driven business model — and how to lead companies through growth, changes of ownership and transformation.
At Eucon I led the company through two changes of ownership as CEO — the sale of the group from Hg Capital to the VHV Group in 2020 and the later sale of the automotive business to Infopro Digital. As early as 2018, we had embedded artificial intelligence productively into our data-driven solutions — well before the topic reached the mainstream.
My career began in the automotive supplier industry — at Continental, Valeo and for over fourteen years at HELLA, most recently as a member of divisional management. Early on I took on international supervisory and advisory board mandates in Germany, Denmark, Poland and France. Across my various roles, I have been responsible for around 20 international M&A transactions — acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs. This experience is the source of what I bring as a business angel today: operational understanding rather than theory. Today I am CEO of Diamant Software GmbH and invest in parallel through chameleon GmbH — selectively, with my own capital and out of conviction.
Motorsport is not only my hobby — it is the mindset with which I also invest: precision, preparation, and the courage to accelerate at the right moment.
Through Bilster Berg I hold a stake in one of Europe's most demanding race tracks. And when a race car in chameleon livery hits the circuit, it is a lived connection between profession, investment and enthusiasm.
Race number 156 — the chameleon race car also carries the signature of several portfolio companies: cardentity, Carmerce, Replique and Autosource Group.
Whether an early-stage idea or an established company looking for an experienced sparring partner on its board — feel free to write to me. I reply personally.
